Privacy Policy
Version 1.0 · last updated: 16 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you request an assessment of your property's holiday-letting potential, what we use it for, on what basis, for how long we keep it, and how you can exercise your rights.
1. Controller
The controller for the personal data collected through this landing page is Algarve Vacation Ltd (“Algarve Vacation”, “we”), as identified in the official policies of the algarvevacation.net website.
- Postal address: Phoenix House, 2 Huddersfield Road, Stalybridge, Cheshire, SK15 2QA, United Kingdom
- Email for privacy matters: privacy@algarvevacation.net
- Telephone: +351 308 802 106
Algarve Vacation has appointed a data privacy manager responsible for overseeing matters relating to this policy. For any privacy question, including the exercise of your rights, please contact them at the email address above.
2. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to the Algarve Vacation landing page aimed at owners who want to find out the holiday-letting potential of their property in the Algarve, including the quick assessment, the optional in-depth assessment, the automatic mini-study and the request for a professional assessment.
It does not apply to bookings made by guests or to other Algarve Vacation websites, which have their own policies. If you go on to enter into a management agreement, the processing of data under that agreement will be the subject of separate information.
3. Data we collect
We only collect the data you provide directly in the form. We do not ask for payment data, identification documents or special category data.
Quick assessment (needed to obtain the estimate and request the assessment):
- The property's location; if you select "Other location", the name of the locality you type and the reference area you select for the estimate.
- Reference financial area used in the calculation, where the locality does not have its own figures.
- Property type, number of bedrooms, swimming pool and number of bathrooms.
- Condition of the property and status of the Alojamento Local (AL) licence.
- Name, email and telephone number with country and dialling code. The telephone number is required if you prefer to be contacted by WhatsApp or phone call; otherwise it is optional.
- Language in which you prefer to be assisted and your preferred contact channel.
- Your choice as to whether to receive additional marketing communications.
In-depth assessment (optional, only if you decide to continue):
- Other features of the property, such as outdoor space, view, proximity to the beach and floor area.
- Your relationship with the property, its current use, management situation and whether it is already advertised.
- Your goals, concerns and timescales.
- Property address and a link to an existing listing, if you choose to provide these.
- Photographs, if you choose to select them. In this version of the landing page, photographs are only previewed on your device and are not uploaded or sent.
Technical data: the server hosting the landing page processes the IP address and technical browser data needed to deliver the pages and protect the service. Campaign parameters present in the page address (for example, UTM parameters) will only be linked to your request once the measurement tools are active and under the conditions described in the Cookie Policy.
Please do not include in the text fields any information that is not necessary for the assessment of the property, in particular third-party data or sensitive data.
4. How data is processed in the form
The indicative estimate is calculated in your browser, based on the answers about the property and Algarve Vacation's revenue data. While you fill in the form, your answers remain on your device only.
So that you do not lose your progress, the browser temporarily stores your choices about the property and the step you have reached, for the duration of the session. The address, the locality you typed, the listing link, the photographs and your contact details are never stored this way and are lost if you reload the page.
Your data is only transmitted to Algarve Vacation when you submit the request.
5. Purposes and legal bases
We process the data for the following purposes, each with its legal basis under Article 6 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Calculating and presenting the indicative estimate and the mini-study: pre-contractual steps taken at your request (Article 6(1)(b)).
- Responding to your assessment request and contacting you about your property, in the language and through the channel you indicated: pre-contractual steps taken at your request (Article 6(1)(b)).
- Preparing the professional assessment, arranging any visit and drawing up a management proposal: pre-contractual steps taken at your request (Article 6(1)(b)).
- Sending news and content from Algarve Vacation by email, only if you select that option: consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time.
- Measuring the performance of the landing page and campaigns, when these tools are active: consent, whenever the law requires it for the use of cookies or similar technologies, and legitimate interest for aggregated statistics that do not require it.
- Protecting the service, preventing abuse and responding to requests from authorities or to the exercise of rights: legitimate interest (point (f)) and compliance with legal obligations (point (c)).
Providing the quick assessment data is necessary to receive the estimate and for follow-up of the request. The in-depth assessment and marketing communications are optional. Declining marketing communications does not affect the assessment.
We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you. The automatic estimate is purely indicative and does not determine acceptance of your request or the terms of any proposal.
6. Follow-up of your request and marketing communications
Follow-up directly related to your request — contacts to learn about the property, arrange the visit or present the assessment and proposal — forms part of the service you requested and respects the language and channel you chose.
Additional marketing communications, such as news and content from Algarve Vacation, are only sent if you tick the corresponding option, which is never pre-selected. Declining these communications does not prevent the request or the assessment. You may withdraw your consent at any time via the link included in each email or by contacting us.
7. Who has access to the data
The data is accessed only by Algarve Vacation staff who need it to respond to the request and prepare the assessment and proposal.
We use service providers who process data on our behalf, for example to host the landing page. These providers act as processors, under a contract in accordance with Article 28 GDPR, may only process the data in accordance with our instructions, and are subject to a duty of confidentiality. You may ask us for the current list of these providers at privacy@algarvevacation.net.
The landing page is currently hosted on the Lovable platform, which uses the Cloudflare network to deliver the pages. Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts servers.
We do not sell your data. We will only disclose it to third parties where the law requires it or with your authorisation.
8. International transfers
Algarve Vacation does not transfer your personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), except to the United Kingdom, a country covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission. If, in future, any provider processes data outside these territories, the transfer will only take place subject to appropriate safeguards, such as the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, and this policy will be updated beforehand.
9. Data retention
We keep data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
- Assessment requests that do not lead to a contract: only for as long as is reasonably necessary to respond to the request and follow up on your interest, taking into account the volume, nature and sensitivity of the data. The data is then deleted or anonymised.
- Requests that lead to a management agreement: thereafter kept in accordance with that agreement and the applicable legal obligations.
- Marketing communications: until you withdraw your consent.
- Choices stored in the browser: until the tab or window is closed.
We may keep data for longer if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or to establish, exercise or defend a right in legal proceedings.
10. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data against loss, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access restricted to those who need the data, and minimisation of information stored in the browser. If a data breach occurs that poses a risk to your rights, we will notify the supervisory authority and, where required, the affected data subjects.
11. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we process about you.
- Request rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request erasure of data, in the cases provided for by law.
- Request restriction of processing.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest and, at any time, to direct marketing.
- Receive the data you provided to us in a structured, commonly used format (portability), where processing is based on consent or contract and is automated.
- Withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before its withdrawal.
To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@algarvevacation.net. We will respond within one month, which may be extended in the cases provided for by law. We may ask for additional information to confirm your identity.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement. In Portugal, the competent authority is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD, www.cnpd.pt); in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO, ico.org.uk). We would, however, appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns before you contact an authority, so please contact us first.
12. Minors
The landing page is intended for owners aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our processing activities, service providers or the law. The version in force and its date are always shown on this page. If the changes are material, we will inform you through appropriate means before they take effect.
